Our History

Owners

AZ. Two hours later, he left with everything needed to start brewing his own beer. After moving to Phoenix and discovering What Ale’s Ya, his new go-to home brew store, Adam quickly bonded with the owner, Chuck. He began helping out at the shop and participating in brew-outs. During one of these events, Adam envisioned a taproom and social brewery—a welcoming space where people could gather, enjoy craft beer, brew together, attend classes, host events, and more. With the enthusiastic support of his wife, Allie, they began planning to bring this dream to life.

Originally, the plan was to open the taproom first and integrate What Ale’s Ya into the space, much like a pro shop in a bowling alley. But in January 2020, with uncertainty looming, Adam and Allie decided to hold off. That same year, Chuck announced his retirement after running What Ale’s Ya since 1996. In January 2021, Adam and Allie seized the opportunity to purchase the store, keeping it alive while continuing to plan the taproom.

In March 2025, HOPSOLOGY Taproom & Wine Bar was born, with What Ale’s Ya relocating to the space a month later. As of July 2025, we’re working toward securing a microbrewery license to launch our Social Brewery. This exciting next step will bring brewing classes, events, and more, creating a vibrant community hub for beer lovers and beyond.
